I’m finally going to leave this place feeling joyful, peaceful, that you’re now free.

I thank God for you, for your life, your spirit, the family bond that ties our hearts together. I thank God I was here, that we could be together at this time. And I thank you for waiting for me.
It was an honour to stand in the gap between Heaven and Earth with you, to spend a few of your last hours in this life with you, praying over you and with you, talking to you, sharing memories, and holding your hand.
It was an honour to spend your final moment with you, as you slipped beyond the veil. You’re now at peace, living your best life.
I’m sorry I took it for granted that you’d always be here. I was scared, terrified, that I wouldn’t cope without you, so I pretended you’d be here forever. But I forgot; I share your spirit, your heart, your strength, and your determination. I’m going to be OK.
